After the air passes through the three filters, it passes through a chamber illuminated by ultraviolet (UV) light. This light destroys micro-organisms.
UV light has been scientifically proven to destroy a large variety of contaminants, including disease-causing viruses, bacteria and fungi (including mold). Ultraviolet light air purification has been used for years by the medical field (including hospitals) to sanitize rooms and equipment, in order to prevent the spread of illness and disease.
The UV light in the XJ-3000C not only destroys bio-contaminants in the air in the chamber, but also those contaminants which have been trapped in the HEPA filter.
